Ashfall would be highly dependent on existing winds, but radial dispersion of ash from such a large eruption would also have to be massive, as ash spreads circularly outwards in the stratosphere with the weak winds.
If we had zonal flow, all the ash would be blown east handily. A cutoff over CA? It gets funneled right into our area.
