Wait are you saying the CFS is also used as a climate change model years or even decades in advance? Seems like a very odd use of a long term weather model which should rely on very different inputs and factors.

I just got home. 00z runs sure were ummm, inspiring. Yeah. I would much rather have a strong ridge and then retrogression instead of a return to wet weather with the pattern resetting. Who knows how long it might take to shut down the pacific and develop an Alaskan ridge at ~150-160 W. Night Shift 6z GFS in 2 hours 10 minutes
