The drier end of the Mediterranean climate is truly the worst. Better to go a bit drier to the point it doesn't support vegetation. I was thinking about that when I was in Palm Desert last year. Lots of warm dry winds but the hills are bare and could never sustain a significant fire. Dust is still an issue but it won't destroy your home. Of course Palm Springs can only exist because of the water that falls in the hills to its west.

More good news. The 00z CFS was a train wreck. Good!

I worded that poorly, I am super sick and my brain sometimes isn't functioning and coherent. What I meant to say was, for it to reach the 32 threshold, the low temperature needs to be 6 degrees below average, and to reach the 50 threshold, it needs to only be 2 degrees above average. It is kinda an unfair system for team cold. Keep it that way. I, Mr heatmiser, AM NO LONGER ON TEAM COLD! SUMMER IS COMING! 90 BURGERS FOR ALL!
