Thanks, @iFred Fred for giving me a place year after year where I can be a true weather geek, post model runs, and hopefully soon we all get to experience a cold, snowy wintry bliss. We should all strive to make this a great place for everyone who loves the weather from the expert to the novice, and even the casual lurker. Appreciate you my friend.

GEPS and AIFS are chilly but not nearly as cold as the GEFS

The new forecast (as of the last hour) looks a bit better for the Skagit, at least up river. Still forecast to beat the modern record by 2', but significantly better than the 5-6' over the previous record that was forecast earlier. Downstream near Mt. Vernon the news isn't as good because the forecast has been pretty consistent in the 4-5' over the previous record. I'm still a bit skeptical this will actually verify, but I think it's more likely than the previous forecasts. If I had to guess, I'd predict that both stations will be close to, or a touch above their previous records, but not as much as currently forecast.

I think it will as well because the snoqualmie drains into the Snohomish which is also going to be backed up from the Skykomish River.
