OLM can freeze more easily from mild setups. Up here, it's definitely been one of the absolute worst years of subfreezing and inversion days.
Normally we even see highs in the 20s or low 30s purely from a ridge / arctic high in the fall or early winter..not a chance this time around. Very little fog too.
The coldest day was 33 during that snow day in March. Other than that maybe one sub 40 day during the inversion in January. Really pathetic.
OLM has seen 61 freezes this cold season. Their long term average is 75.
Record low is 26, from 2014-15. 2015-16 saw 38. So it definitely can be a lot worse in that regard.
In case you're wondering, 1984-85 holds the record for most with 104.
Spit marble to dime size hail here in the initial moments of the storm (looks like the better hail core went slightly to my north). Now just heavy rain.
