I’ve been curious the last few days why there’s an argument over shoulder season months warming as fast as July and August. I don’t recall anyone saying that is the case.
I still wouldn’t call May a summer month just like I wouldn’t call October a winter month. They may have bouts of weather like it, but they still have enough differences to not feel like winter or summer.
A lot of the warmth this May in PNW is from developing El Nino, just like the "cooler near average trend" of the last 10 years have been because of 7/10 La Nina's. It's middle ground, but if you smooth out ENSO it's a slight warming trend, which I'd argue is happening to every season now.
On a positive take away from all this. My yard is looking awesome. I’ve been on the go so much. I haven’t been able to enjoy my yard during the spring. So at least I’m enjoying my coffee and watching the yard blossom out.
Well, due to the sciatic nerve flareup, I failed to launch last week for the Midwest but at this point, it doesn’t look like I’m missing much. Dixie Alley quite active last night with apparently the strongest tornado of the season. Dixie Alley also looks like a messy chase due to the trees that line the road. That’s a huge nope for me!!!!
I tell you, the sciatic nerve can deliver pain!!!! So I’m a prisoner of home for a bit. Ugh
