Depending on where you go and the weather, on average I'd say ski traffic adds 45 min to an hour each way on the weekends. So you could easily spend 5 hours of your day on the road.
I only go up on the weekends if I'm staying overnight. Friday is about half as bad, but an other week day there's usually minimal delays.
We are camping along the Missouri in Yankton, SD. It's so freaking hot and humid out there! We went on a boat for a bit to go tubing and you have to jump in the water every 5-10 mins just to stay cooled down. Thankfully we aren't tenting it - a RV with AC is a god send today.
Looks like we are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for this evening with an enhanced risk. Last time we took the RV out a couple years ago we got a large hail storm and it gave the family a bit of a scare with how loud it was on the roof. They are not looking forward to any thunderstorm chances tonight.
