New feature is live: Model Verification.
This feature grades HRRR, GFS, and ECMWF against the RTMA analysis every hour. You can view error maps showing where each model missed and by how much (scrubbable through the last 24 hours like radar), plus 7-day bias and Mean Average Error (MAE) maps showing which models have been running warm or cold and where.
It's in Point Desk too. Drop a pin and there's a new Accuracy section showing each model's recent bias at that spot, with the sample count behind every number. Should settle some model arguments around here once snow season gets going.
Fair warning that the stats window just started filling this week, so sample sizes are small for now and will beef up daily. To check it out, pick Verification from the Source menu or drop a Point Desk pin. Let me know what you guys think!
