Yes, as has been posted here many times, there is not a strong correlation between El Niño and dry winters in the PNW. This is because the strongest Niño winters tend to be wet and mild. The strong correlation in this region is with temperature, not precipitation. Original maps here.

Hopefully a preview of things to come this cold season! Gonna be chilly the next few days. This is would be a great regional snowstorm setup with the BC slider a few months from now with colder air in place.

Dry season is coming to an end. This rainy afternoon felt like fall. Cozy weather
