I’d agree if this had been April-June 2022 but there’s been nothing unusual or extra gloomy about this year. This spring has been about as normal as it gets with some warm sunny days mixed in with some seasonal climo rainfalls. Just normal variability.
I think if you asked around right now most people would say it's been extra gloomy for the last 3 weeks. Particularly away from the water. Expectations are naturally higher when the days are so long and a nice day last Friday doesn't quite cut it. But that is the way it usually works around here. We often get a 2-3 week period of gloomy weather sometime in May or June. I just think a vast majority of people would agree with Jim's assessment at this point... but obviously not people who love rain and cold weather and that is fine too.
Well here we go again. Just .30" past 12 days. Plants beginning to suffer. Watering has began. What else is june to sept known for in se iowa? DROUGHT DROUGHT DROUGHT! 3rd straight complete years with way more precip in cooler months than while youre trying to grow stuff!!!!
Looks like we ended up with 1.68” of rain over the last few days. Looking like some more insufferable variable weather that’s fairly climo on the horizon. Will enjoy some sunshine the next few days and my job slowing down a bit lol.
