I think some storm threads are worthy after today's 12z runs...how about that turn of events, huh? Last minute snowy trends are always a bonus....I'm also seeing a sneaky Friday system over the MW....love it!
Buckle Up...Saddle Up....this pattern is loaded and primed to shine!!! Hello Ol' Man Winter and Welcome 2025!! The land of the Frigid & Snowy Heartland of the Nation!! Not gonna lie, but that 0z Euro run had me some flashbacks of the Superbowl Blizzard of 2015. Eye candy for sure and this one has my interests perked up.
06z EPS continues to up totals for tomorrow's system. We were at 1.1 inches on yesterday's 12z run, now it's coming in at 3.4 inches. 06z Euro also more snowy for here, pushing totals up to 2.7 inches for Sioux Falls, accompanied by a much more broad area of 3-5 inches that reaches fairly well down into IA.
NWS FSD's AFD from this morning discussed a practically all-rain event, with the forecast being less than a half inch of snow. I wonder how that tune will change if today's runs keep the 2-3+ inch solutions.
Boy, you gotta appreciate how this storm formed over E TX and then started going Neg Tilt around the Texarkana Region and taking the classic S MW/OHV track while producing a Comma Head over AR/MO as the storms undergoes rapid deepening today. I got my eye on this one for Super Bowl weekend!!!
