That's kind of a funny stat, given that 2009 had more sub-70 days at SLE than any July from 2002-2008 and 1990-1998, except for July 1993 - which had the same number.

Agree. Still plenty of time for a back-loaded blowtorch, and a single normal-ish July in a sea of scorching summers doesn't really inspire confidence that we'll avoid it.
