More memories!! My friend and I would take our little boats (me pictured in mine) over to the what we called “the little store” attached to an rv resort with a dock to buy candy including those candy cigarettes!! We through we were so cool driving our boats and pretending to smoke our cigs!
My mom's best friend practically helped raise me and I probably spent as much time at her house as I did at my own house. They took me on all their family vacations, and she drove a Chevy Caprice wagon with the 3rd row rear facing seat. I spent many MANY hours sitting in that third row staring at the cars behind us.
She chain smoked Kool cigarettes in the car, in the house, restaurants... She would crack the window in the car but it wouldn't matter, the car still filled with smoke.
Lucky for me...back then us kids didn't have to worry about 2nd hand smoke. It hadn't been invented yet.
She was always getting us candy, and we always asked for candy cigarettes and Fun Dip.
Somehow I despite my best efforts, I avoided becoming a smoker. All my friends smoked, and I bummed cigarettes off them on occasion. I finally decided I was going to get serious about it and bought a pack of either Camels or Marlboro Reds. I got through about 3-4 cigarettes and threw the rest of the pack away and that was the end of it. Still smoked weed, and as an adult I enjoy the occasional cigar, but that's the extent of it.
Perfection! Massive flashback! Only differences would be the interior was blue, my sister should be in the back as well getting the second hand smoke, and the vinyl seats really cooked your legs on a sunny day!
