I have had just .31 rain in past 16 days. With strong june sun daily, wind almost daily and low dewpoints our yards are beginning to all out die. Last year was may 20th and this year June 10th. June 9th is statistically the wettest day of the year in Ottumwa, Iowa. Is that some kind of joke? June to September have become a all out war to keep many things alive. Especially new trees and annuals. Honestly Im sick of it. Can count the wet weeks on one or two hands since 2012. No doubt without rain the next 10 we are right back onto the drought monitor. All of this after mby basically in top 10 highest precip Dec 15 to May 15 in all of 300 plus reporting sites across Iowa! Just ridiculous.
Hello from South Lake Tahoe! We left PHX yesterday at 7:00am and arrived into Tahoe around 7:30pm. I literally drove 12.5 hours straight and loved loved the Mountain View’s as we approached the Sierra’s from So Cal and up through Victorville. We took the 10 west, onto the 215 and then up 395 all the way into NV. There is still a good amount of snow on the peaks that tower up to 13,500 feet. Majestic views as I drove on the east side of the mountain range .
I didn’t like the prices of the gas in the smaller towns…

There is this hazy look in the sky and I’m not sure why but it obscured the views somewhat. Nevertheless, here are some vids….

The low clouds are quite thin this morning on the east side of the Seattle area for such a robust marine push last night. The ECMWF says they won't last too long today and it will be a sunny afternoon.
I'll be cherishing these next few days and nights of mild. On the extended there is heat coming, many days with above average highs. Not sure yet if any daily records will be threatened in Ashland but there could be a few cities set new ones sometime next week.
In the meantime, will only be 76 this afternoon and will drop to the low 50's tonight!! Sometimes my area sees a low a few degrees cooler than predicted, I wouldn't mind if we dropped to 49 for an hour, bring it on. Hell will be here soon.
@Phil is this month still looking like a solid derecho producer out here?
Looking over the content of this thread lately, it's strayed pretty far from 'polite politics'. Could everyone just try to take it down a notch please? I'm not saying to make it dull and boring, but keeping personal attacks to a minimum would be a good start even if you do hate each other.
