  1. Past hour
  2. 1.90”! Still dumping! Taken about an hour ago…Landscaping is loving this!
  3. These tornado clips are making my impromptu dust devil chase last weekend in eastern Washington feel uninspiring… disregard the lofi beats in the background… IMG_6391.mov IMG_6388.mov
  4. Record low max for SEA today. A whopping 15 degrees below normal.
  5. It’s a nice drive, although it’s pretty windy. My wife has been car sick on that one before. My older daughter would almost certainly puke if I took her on that road
  6. The 12z EPS control run essentially aborts the idea of prolonged WPAC forcing and has returned to a more niña-like convective state by the end. Would be hilarious if that is the ultimate outcome given the observed tendencies since 2013.
  7. 1.03" so far. The nice thing about the rain today is that I got proof that all the work I did is going to pay off. My old clay soil yard would have tons of standing water on it which would remain for up to 36 hours after the rain stopped. I would get standing water after 0.3-0.4" of rain in a day. After my adding about 13 yds of top soil and re-seeding, there was standing water from about mid-day on, but as soon as the rain tapered off it all drained off.
  8. I was a tad disappointed it wasn’t full on wet snow.
  9. Today
  10. The north bend station is approaching 1” now as well. I bet you’ve had even more thanks to orographic lift.
  11. That tornado absolutely shredded a wind turbine without breaking a sweat. Wild stuff. At the beginning of 2nd video (bottom) you can see the turbine blades in the air, then the whole thing comes down.
  12. Not in town this week but it looks like 0.61” fell which is my best calendar day total since late February (!!!)
  13. Also... fires happen every summer and have for hundreds of thousands of years. You can't really "avoid" the fire season.
  14. It’s called…A Funny! Because I’m a riot!
  15. More than 1.25" so far today which I think will make this the wettest day in the last full year here. Kind of reminds me of the soaking we saw in June 2022 or the washout from Memorial Day weekend 2010 where I saw over 3" of rain fall.
  16. Had a few pages to catch up. Saw Phil commenting about this ending fire season. Just chalked it up to someone being 3,000 miles away and not understanding our climate. Guess I was wrong. I truly wish May rain would mean avoiding a bad fire season 2-3 months from now.
  17. Nice, I say call it even now - mostly dry ish upper 60s/low 70s holiday weekend seems fair? Wet, cool and dreary since about 1pm down here.
  18. Duffy Lake Road is well above 4000ft in elevation so that’s not too unexpected
