Beautiful here this morning. Temp in the 60’s, dew of 52, NW wind gusting to 30 mph. Feels like a mid September morning. The ongoing problem, however, is the continual missing of rains. Since my post 2 days ago, we were missed in my county by 4-5 different storms, 2 just yesterday. Yards in town are really struggling. Crops are being irrigated. Road ditches turning brown. Not great going into July. My county is the darker tan in the center.

Tom, Those desert Boomers are real end of the world stuff. I’ve never seen lightning like that and the thunder can literally shake the house and the ground under your feet. It’s a real treat. Cant wait for your impressions.

The mid-level deck is just today... but tomorrow we start out with low clouds after that weak system moves through. Tomorrow has been sort of strange on the ECMWF showing solid low clouds through noon and still broken clouds even late in the day and yet it shows a high of 75 or 76 in Seattle. Normally a day like that would struggle to reach 70 at this time of year. I suspect the ECMWF might be too warm for tomorrow which rarely happens.

Meanwhile today’s starting out much sunnier than expected. Unfortunately, looks like a pretty solid mid-level deck on its way in a few hours through the rest of the weekend.

Other than those couple wet days at the start of the month it’s been a dry June here. Just 0.24” of rain in the past 24 days
