5% of the entire canopy in Western OR and QA was scorched. Easily the biggest weather-related tree catastrophe (catastroTree) in our region since 1962.

The wet snow and ice storm gods have their work cut out for them!
Anecdotally I also see more drownings reported on the rivers/lakes around here on warm summer days than maybe anything else. I'm too lazy to look it up but I bet there's a good number annually.
And the stats are massively against cold weather already... 9 times as many deaths. But Justin needs more evidence because some trees died in his area.
