Makes sense why he likes the sun. Always on the boat and under the umbrella. I like hiking and enjoying the beauty of the lake to myself. Lake Washington is slop, always suspicious levels of bacteria, and full of people.
The alpine lakes in the North Cascades are beautiful and fantastic hiking/camping destinations. But they're not big for water recreation. And I doubt Tim has hiked more than once or twice up there in the 20+ years he's been living there. Not sure if I've ever even seen him reference a hike of any sort in his 100k posts.
And yeah, Oregon's lakes mostly suck outside of the central part of the state. The stretch from Crater Lake up to the Three Sisters has a bunch of nice ones though.
