We had tons of tree damage all over the place around the peninsula as well with just 4-6” of snow around. Some of the heaviest concrete I’ve seen and just a wicked surprise storm overall.
It’s amazing what the plant/tree life can survive around here.
The willow tree at our old place got nuked during the major dump of snow in February 2018, it was so badly damaged that when I went to see if I could save it that March when cutting what was too far gone I came so close to just cutting the entire tree as it was split down the middle and really didn’t think it would survive. The house was going on the market at the end of that month and I was trying to make things as nice as possible. But something told me not to cut the entire tree down and I’m glad I didn’t. I keep on occasional contact with the people that bought it and that is their favorite tree on the property and it’s doing great.
My personal favorite was the Monkey tree, they talked about taking it out as the roots were destroying the driveway, luckily they decided against it. I had to get one last picture of it as I pulled out of the driveway one last time after we sold the place.
