Back in the Valley of the Sun!!! My trip to Chicago was shortened as I decided to come back and not have to deal with the chilly weather so much. Not gonna sugar coat it but I am certainly acclimated to warmer weather and temps in the 30's/40's in the mornings were a bit noticeable. If the sun is out, I'm all for it, but the cloudy and showery weather is what I do not miss. Having said that, I'm grateful for any kind of weather that nature brings. Living in a place where there is sunshine 300+ days out of the year absolutely has a + effect on my psyche. Make it a Terrific Thursday!

The sky cleared out overnight and the low here in my yard was a very cool 36° I do not see any frost. The week ahead continues to show cold temperatures for May with highs in the 50’s to low 60’s with only Saturday have temperatures near average lows will be in the 30’s most nights with a couple of 40’s tossed in. Sociology practices itself in a closed system. I'm really curious to see what humans hundreds of years from now will be saying about ASD/ADHD. I have my ideas that I'm 99% sure psychologists will have to come to accept over the next century, coming from someone with experience having "mostly" diagnosed ASD; ie barely missing the criteria when I was assessed as a kid, even though the doc said I probably have it Some of my ideas would probably rouse a few head nods from the right crowd, particularly the ones relating to the way we as a society choose to view weakness and how those views percolate into our culture and express themselves in our different personalities. And that maybe we shouldn't judge worth or potential based on how financially uncompetitive one's affect is. Notice how autism barely presented itself as an inherent "pathology" in 1950s America... People with the ASD personality phenotype back then simply found appropriate work and were paid handsomely. They could then come home and unthinkingly be as they decided to be, bringing with them a secure paycheck; while never having to wade through the messy, overly complicated discourse we have today surrounding their very way of living, thinking, and acting.* Some of my other ideas would probably be better read as Tool lyrics. *An over-simplification of the 1950's and their attitude toward "different" people... I mean to argue that ASD wasn't nearly the kind of psychological complex then as it is today. And to be clear, none of the above entirely applies to what we today refer to as more "severe forms" of Autism; where communication is severely impaired, and there are real cognitive+emotional deficits.
