indeed its maddening. I avoid social media during disasters at all costs except following the local authorities, media and law enforcement. People have a D**n conspiracy for everything and I really notice they do not understand how wind, heat and long term drought drive fire in the the west

Yeah, 50 years ago people didn't have social media to tell them there was a range fire burning in rural Malheur County. Or they would have seen a headline about the Spokane Fires and maybe a 30 second story on the evening news, not six hours of doom scrolling on it. Then everyone come out and tries to shape the narrative to fit their political views. People immediately started blaming the Spokane fires on homeless people, which is definitely how a lot of the urban fires in Spokane start, but the areas the three started on Saturday seem unlikely to have been started that way. The other one is that "they" want to put a data center where the Old Trails fire is burning... Doesn't even make sense...

It happens on every big fire now. I love the “we didn’t have any big fires 50 years ago, but now we do every year”. Yea…that’s part of the problem.
