Latest guidance is suggesting that the severe threat may end up east of here on Wednesday. SPC may have to significantly trim the western part of the risk area on the new update.
On a different note, been reading some interesting stuff about tree vulnerability after very high wind exposure like what happened around here recently. Some trees that are still standing may have increased susceptibility to dying over the next few years due to root stress and pests having an easier time getting in where breaks occurred. On my block and in surrounding areas, the small trees seem to have fared pretty well for the most part with little/no outward signs of damage, but the bigger ones got massacred -- either being uprooted or losing a ton of branches. A guy down the street actually already planted a new tree just a few days ago.
