Guest happ
The only upside to the heat may be the mt showers, particularly in San Bernardino county. Baldwin Lake received 1.27 yesterday and 0.20 today.

Thunder98
Its currently 81F with a dp of 48 in Santa Maria. Why is the air so dry for a monsoonal moisture event in Central Coast? Its usually somewhat muggy when it comes up here, (DP in the low 60's)

Anti Marine Layer
The clouds became quite thick today, providing some relief from the heat. Phoenix got a big thunderstorm and the remains of that are headed our way.
Guest happ
Easterly wave delivering monsoon showers and dust storms across the desert; hopefully some of the moisture will propagate into coastal sections over the next several days. Yesterday the sky included dust particles you could see in the higher levels. Quite humid by California standards [upper 60's-low 70 dew points]. It did cool down enough for less overnight air conditioning. L: 74 https://twitter.com/NWSSanDiego

Anti Marine Layer
Don't see how dewpoints are dropping into the 50s during the middle of the day when the whole day feels muggy. It would suggest the mugginess is coming more from marine layer/above normal SSTs rather than monsoonal moisture, but strong monsoonal flow also seems to stop any upwelling on the coast, which helps to raise SSTs.
