Looking back at 2022, what whiplash we had that season. October had a mean temp of 54.3 at Silver Falls and was a +5.2 departure. November had a mean temp of 36.0 and was a -5.5 departure.
Have friends in Pisgah Forest just beside Brevard. They are elevated too, and away from a river. Their road was cut off in one direction but can get out after sawing some downed trees in the other. Get this, them and both their two neighbors never lost power, just lost internet and cell service. It came back yesterday and we facetimed. They are on a well and septic so good there too. Their one neighbor had just gotten up and walked out of their bedroom to the bathroom friday morning during the height of the storm and a tree crashed through the bedroom and would've killed them if they were still in bed. Other than that, all the services in the valley near them are either destroyed, damaged or still closed due to services outages. They are going to be spending the next week or two starting today in Myrtle Beach (ironically away from destruction) with family just to get away from the carnage and bad vibes
