I think you could very well be right.

I think the models are coming into some agreement about a pattern change. Even though the 00Z GFS was a little off compared to some of it's previous runs it still has potential. Models will wobble from time to time and that's to be expected. Another thing to point out is the Euro and the AI has come around to what the GFS has been showing the past couple of runs. This tells me that a pattern change is possible. I'm not saying it will happen until we get closer to the New Year. One other thing, January is notorious for having cold and snow/ice events lately so I wouldn't be surprised to see one or the other 🌨

4 years ago today, warm rain turned to accumulating wet snow here due to a cold front. SEA had a 59/34°F spread with 0.5" of snow. One of my favorite weather memories.
