I started following a Minot ND station this summer when they had huge thunderstorm outbreaks and were posting cool videos. They have been talking about record warmth the last couple of months but looks like winter is finally arriving there.

1950 is pretty close. 99th percentile at least.

Came close honestly but the blocking evacuated north too quickly. That airmass was incredible. January 2020 was similar in that regard but less of a low level blast and more of a border hugger.

Reminds of me of some of the insane runs in January 2024, with like multiple perfet banana troughs, sub 510 MBs, and like multiple feet of snow and negatives for SEA and PDX. True maximization of our potential.
