I like the idea of staying on DST. My son made a good point recently... he goes to work at 7 am and leaves at 5 pm which is pretty common as he is in peak traffic both ways. As it is now he goes to work in the dark and comes home in the dark during the winter. Staying on DST would give him daylight on the evening commute all winter. In fact the sun would still be up at 5 p.m. on the shortest day of the year. Its dark in the morning and evening regardless... giving people daylight for the evening commute is better than darkness for both.

Forecast looks pretty amazing. Highs at my place should be in the low 60s the next few days and then mid-50s for several days following. Not overly wet either. Salem is tracking for their coolest September since 2005.

Still pisses me off. They're giving up the beauty of early winter evenings to only complain that it is too dark for kids at 9am.
