The overnight low here in my yard was 22, the temperature has gone up and at 7am it is cloudy and 29. On this Christmas eve morning there is just snow piles here in my area so officially Grand Rapids for the 3rd year in a row will have less than 1” of snow on the ground.

And in 1989 — Fifty-seven cities in the south central and eastern U.S. reported record low temperatures for the date, including Elkins, WV, with a reading of 22 degrees below zero. Key West FL equalled their record for December with a morning low of 44 degrees. The high of just 45 degrees at Miami FL was an all-time record for that location. The highest wind gust was 21 MPH out of the W. For today the average H/L is 34/23 the record high of 59 was in 2015 the coldest high of 7 was in 1983 the record low of -9 was in 1944 the warmest low of 50 was in 1982 the wettest was 1.79” in 1979 the most snowfall of 10.5” was in 2022 the most on the ground was 19” in 1951.
