Interestingly we lived at 1,200 feet in San Diego County for 5 years between 1998-2003. Not exactly highland SoCal though because that is probably 4,000+ feet down there but we used to drive up to Cuyamaca and Julian to see snow and it was nice to see forests down there. Even the high elevations down there are very sunny.

@TT-SEA What are your thoughts on highland SoCal climates?

Side note... even her own son is crazy about snow so while she doesn't agree with him she gets people loving snow. And in fact she loves snow as well as long as its not a day she has to commute. She loved our Friday night snow event after Christmas because she had two days to just enjoy it. So there is some hope for her!

We were driving in a similar scene today and my wife made an off-hand comment about the ugly weather and I said well its good to get a bunch of rain all at once and get it out of the way... and then I said some people can't stand the sun and only want this gloomy weather. And she laughed like I was joking and I said no its true. And she said well that is just goofy. So not only did she not want to debate it... she didn't even think people like that existed. I rarely discuss any weather forum topics with her and we don't even talk about the weather much unless its extreme. But I understand your pain of not being understood now.

Nice house for sale right near the top of that hill just NE of Duvall that we often talk about on here. This is at about 1230ft. Bet they do very well with this cold stretch coming up.
