I guess the novelty of that just wears kind of thin for me after a day or two. I'm not really wired towards traveling to a new country just to sit around on a beach for an entire trip, and then to not have any curiosity towards exploring much beyond the gates of some very Americanized resort complex just doesn't compute for me. But I get that everyone has their own version of an ideal vacation. My buddy just spent a week in Mexico City and loved it and said he'd wished he'd had more time. Definitely on my list.

Since we're posting out of area storm totals, it might be worth seeing the crazy amount of rain parts of Oahu got yesterday. At 10:45 am HST, the 3-hour rainfall at Luluku was 13.01 inches. It ended up being a 24 hour rainfall total at 6:45 PM HST of 25.07 inches. (Attaching a picture of where this station is.) It was also reported in local news "The NWS said a rain gauge near Waiahole recorded an instantaneous downpour equivalent to 8.43 inches per hour, dropping more than 1.3 inches of rain in a matter of minutes." Pretty crazy stuff! And yeah, it's not snow, but just saying that even a trip to Hawai'i doesn't guarantee sun!

I have a couple customers that split their time between Canada and Mexico. They are both single retirees and they love it. Helen has a condo near Cancun, though I’m not exactly sure where. And Jerry has a townhouse in Melaque on the southern pacific side. They both love it and I’ve never heard them Say anything bad about being down there. Not sure if this will change things much, but Jerry has been stronger considering moving there. He hates the cold.
