Yesterday, the city of Hami, China had a max temp of 44.7°C and a low temp of 36.7°C, the highest low temp ever recorded in China.
Average July low there is 19.3°C only. So a really extreme +17.4°C anomaly. And also the hottest night ever recorded ANYWHERE ON EARTH above 40°N and 700 m.
Turpan also tied its July record with 49.1°C.
Kinda surprising Pasco only reached 115 in June 2021. But they did manage 110+ five days in a row, which I'd imagine is a record.
But 130 there? I dunno about that.
I don’t think anywhere outside an arid or semiarid climate has ever reached the 50°C mark (122°F), correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure.
That said, I’d put my chips on Redding or Red Bluff being the first non-arid climate to pull it off.
