Depending on your yard set up and priorities, you can redneck engineer an irrigation system. We had a landscaping project earlier this year, and their Sales guy/PM was quite impressed. I got Hunter pop-up Sprinkler heads, mounted them on sprinkler spikes, cut sections of garden hose to length, and tied it in to a B-Hyve watering timer. For the backyard, it is fully fenced in so I don't care about appearance. For the front yard, I ran the hose behind a decorative block wall I have set up. I have another set up in a flower bed on the other side of the driveway, and I used extentions and got a 12" pop-up sprinkler head so they are hidden by the landscaping, then pop up above everything when it is time to water. For the back yard, I have quick disconnects for the hoses, and it takes me about 5 minutes to pick up so I can mow, and another 5 minutes to set it back up. Once I'm done for the season, I drain the hose, coil it and throw it in my shed. Probably cost me about $500 or so. I'll try to take a couple of pictures next time I am outside.

Voting no here as well! I’m overall pretty happy with where the current offer would get me (especially compared to my last job) but I know it’s bigger than just me. It would be nice to be able to buy a house too without my wife having to work full time so she can be with our kid (and future kids) during the day. Engineers have lost a ton of buying power over the course of this current contract so there’s some catching up to do for sure.

Been ready for years for our new metric time. Saskatchewan never did go along with the time change. The remaining three western provinces are now locked into DST. Who cares what Eastern Canada does. No, I won’t mind it dark until 9am. That means it won’t get dark until after 5pm. Good trade off. Although other families pulled it off, I was sick of and extra stressed switching the kids back to DST in March when it’s the start of tax season and energy lags from the annual change. The increase in car accidents and coronaries the Monday after the time change are for what purpose? Good riddance to this pointlessness.
