Well here we go again. Just .30" past 12 days. Plants beginning to suffer. Watering has began. What else is june to sept known for in se iowa? DROUGHT DROUGHT DROUGHT! 3rd straight complete years with way more precip in cooler months than while youre trying to grow stuff!!!!
Looks like we ended up with 1.68” of rain over the last few days. Looking like some more insufferable variable weather that’s fairly climo on the horizon. Will enjoy some sunshine the next few days and my job slowing down a bit lol.
I wouldn’t really say it’s been extremely gloomy. Sure it has the last few days…but this last Friday was pretty nice and there’s been some nice days mixed in over the last few weeks. Even some nice stretches of weather in April. This spring has just been variable if anything not nearly as “bad” as 2022. I also don’t understand the “limited amount of time”. We will still get plenty of nice weather even if this summer ends up being the re-incarnation of 2010 or 2011.
Showers should hold off till late in the day and arrive across the county from SW to NE this evening. Showers tomorrow will end by evening but some spots could see over an inch or more of rain by tomorrow night. Cooler and drier weather arrives for the weekend with falling back below normal with temps no higher than the low to mid 70's. Below normal temps should continue through the first few days of next week.
