  1. Past hour
  2. You only had a tank top on in -96 wind chills? WOW!
  3. I was also barefoot, wearing only boxers and a wife beater shirt.
  4. ENSEMBLES show it moving in more quickly up here.
  5. I just came across a similar article. They’re saying he only needs to pull 4 or 5 States away from Donald and the election will go Democrat. So, he knows he’s a spoiler. Is he a closet Democrat “stealth bomber”?
  6. It's amazing to me the people I hear about who try to climb Everest. I hiked up South Sister from Green Lakes and Broken Top from Green Lakes, when I was a teenager. That's enough for me. I might do it again when my kids are in their teens.
  7. I'm definitely in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp as far as RFK actually polling in the teens come election day, but he is headed toward being the most successful 3rd party candidate since Ross Perot in 1996. He has the name ID and a lot of dissatisfaction with Trump and Biden in his favor. No 3rd party candidate has gotten at least 5% of the vote since 1996.
  8. Yeah, as with any 20k+ summit. Although most the time people die, they are likely inexperienced and made a poor decision to keep pushing despite the forecast inclement weather, or one of their group members die because of bad crevasse rescue techniques. But occasionally an experienced mountaineer will get unlucky and die in an Avalanche, there's only so much precaution you can take to avoid that. Denali(or Mckinley, I personally don't support changing mountains names, but I think Denali is a much better name than McKinley) hasn't become the sh1tshow that everest has yet, but as with any one of the 7 continental summits, there are too many inexperienced people who pay their way to the top. It's pretty crazy what goes on at Mount everest now, it's just a mountain of trash and rich inexperienced tourists.
  9. Today
  10. Good point I didn't think about. I saw Trump went on the attack against RFK this week.
  11. That trough next weekend is now diving into California on the GFS. What a BLESSING for them.
  12. Interesting. Poll implies that RFK is pulling quite a bit from Trump... because in a binary choice between Trump and Biden, probably almost all of the West/Stein voters would go for Biden.
  13. It happens to us all. Just keep being that “voice in the wilderness”. The country was founded on people with dissenting opinions. I’ll back you to the hilt to disagree!
  14. At least there is AMPLE daylight in the summer months.
  15. That’s good. Others need to jump in. Surely there are far less “lightning rod” leaders to be had?
  16. The BARROW to MCKINLEY hike is one of my very favorite, Andrew.
  17. As dissatisfied as so many were with Trump, I amazed at these numbers. I thought surely the Dems would really rally for their guy. Either way, I wish we had better choices.
  18. I've heard a lot of people die climbing Mt. MCKINLEY.
  19. Surprised you couldn’t make the summit. Phil did it with -40F and 81+mph winds while he was still recovering from Covid
  20. We have a chance to hit 80 degrees here in East Nantmeal for the first time since last September 9th. If not today for sure tomorrow. Mostly sunny both today and tomorrow before shower chances increase by Tuesday PM. Slightly cooler but still above normal temps will close out the work week. Chester County Records for today: High 92 degrees in Phoenixville (1915) / Low 26 degrees at Coatesville (1946) / Rain 2.00" at Devault (1952)
  21. This only takes us through the first week of May, but so good to see this and the plentiful moisture where they need it MOST. The Southern PLAINZ.
  22. I hope we have a prolific monsoon season in south Asia.
