  1. Today
  2. Yeah. God forbid working families have an affordable place to live.
  3. Beautiful day here. Partly cloudy with scattered showers and lots of sunbreaks. 59/42 spread. Tonight could get chilly with temps already down into the 40s, clearing skies and winds slacking off.
  4. Yes, two weeks of coolish anomalies totally disproves long term climate warming
  5. If only there were some mountains or large bodies of water nearby. Then it might be expensive.
  6. Voting for Hailey is worse than voting for Biden.
  7. That's definitely a factor, but I'm still surprised. I'd have to double check but I think Haley failed to break 20% in quite a few other states with open primaries.
  8. Seriously though, what is the alternative? Don't say Haley either. What a joke. And I take Umbridge at your comment about Trump being in court. You know full well if he had not decided to run again he would not be charged with any of these phony charges. Trump is putting it all on the line for you.
  9. I think you just said it. Open primary.
  10. I am quite surprised that Haley pulled over 20% here. We do have an open primary, but this is a solidly Trump type of state and the nomination has long been wrapped up.
  11. Honestly, I think I'm going to punt the forecast by a day. For chances above 90 the downslope winds are slightly stronger, but 850s are slightly lower, so I'll hold 89 for Friday for now, since in my mind they wash out. Either way I'll take a closer look at the downslope effects tomorrow. I have noticed though despite the lower 850s, The Euro has gone up in temperature at 2m, due to the downslope winds, which it isn't amazing at modeling the strength.
  12. Lol. We get leaves a bit earlier than Tim jokes. But seriously they are finally starting to leaf out as you can see. Much further along than last year. When I was in C Oregon last week it was clear the full leaf out has not yet arrived. Still looked pretty dormant, though fairly green.
  13. Did your trees finally get some leaves? Seems a bit early! I think you did the same thing as Phil, these photos are from last year
  14. Barnsdall is a nice area. The town itself is a dump, but the countryside is very pretty with some nice properties.
  15. Once again Nikki Haley outperforms expectations in a primary race, considering she's been out of the race for two whole months. She pulled 22% in Indiana tonight. On the flip side, Trump who is the de-facto nominee and Republican Party incumbent, was only able to capture 78% of the vote from his own party while he sat in court across from a pornstar who was detailing her alleged affair with him, including describing spanking him with a magazine. On the one hand, a sane, competent, not-soon-to-be-felon who could have won the election as a conservative and on the other hand Donald Trump. I know I need to get over it but I just... The idiocy of the Republican Party/MAGA today astounds me. They'd rather go down with the ship kicking and screaming as it's lit ablaze instead of grabbing a life vest and getting into another boat. All in the name of supporting someone who doesn't give too shits about them and would take a helicopter off the boat in a second if it was available. So stupid. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-primary-elections/indiana-president-results
  16. Nice evening. Ended up with 3.76” since Friday. Almost 5” on the month.
  17. The frogs are loving all this Tim weather. IMG_2602.mov
  18. As this tornado season continues, this thread seems to be the good place to reiterate my belief that microwave energy can lessen the strength of CN thunderstorms; so strong the storms are capable of creating tornados. The forecasting by NWS is now accurate enough that mobile Aquariusradars can be station in advance along the threat areas. Just as storm chasers follow and video record the storms, the microwave transmitters could transmit microwave energy into the base cloud of the CN thunderstorm.as the truck upon which they are mounted is postioned for maximum effect. A single mobile unit with an effective range of 20 miles would radiate for 10 miles as the storm approached and 10 more as the storm moved away. This allows time for a second radar unit to set up and begin radiating at the storm as it approached the second unit. The first unit leapfrogs 40 miles ahead to setup and be ready. With a high speed capability, the two radars could possibly keep up with long track tornados. The other operational idea is fixed radar transmitter stations in populated towns. These radars would be operated by emergency management. The fireman simply switches hats, turns on the radar that sits atop the firestation and points the radar energy at approaching clouds designated by the NWS radar display(s) .This could be the year of long track tornados as the storms have included the areas where the devastating 1925 tornado blitz-(Tri-State Tornado) occurred.
  19. Lmfao. I have no idea how that happened.
