I think the pendulum is swinging the other way... as it usually does.
I still don't think its right for a teacher or someone else in a position of authority to force their religious beliefs on others. That is a slippery slope because it means you have to allow all beliefs and you might not like that. But this Christmas stuff is garbage. Christmas is so universal in our culture and that will never change. Wishing people Merry Christmas has made a strong come back in the last couple of years. That is not forcing your views on other people.
You cling to any news stories you can find to be outraged. Before every sporting event in this country they sing the national anthem and people stand and respect the flag. Its not taboo at all... in fact its shocking if it doesn't happen or if people are disrespectful during the anthem. There was a massive pushback against players kneeling during the anthem and now it just doesn't happen. They were forced into compliance and respecting the flag. And on Sundays all baseball games now include God Bless America during the 7th inning stretch. That is religious AND respecting America. And it happens in every major league stadium every Sunday.
The George Floyd riots went on for many months.
Today we have companies banning people from wearing American flag pins, disallowing any religious symbols for Christmas and Easter decorations, teachers and professors saying the Constitution is trash, and young people hating our Founding Fathers. Only 25% of Democrats are proud to live in America. More than 50% of young Democrat voters want socialism, which is the highest percentage for any time in American history.
There was one time in our history teachers could be fired for supporting socialism. Today they can be fired for praying or quoting the Bible.
