We think it was a flip, but he will not admit it. I can confirm the attic has about 2 feet of blown in insulation but the walls were never touched, and the house is 70 years old so.... the wall insulation is shot. They did install some newer windows before we moved in over 10 years ago, but they didn't do a very good job with em.
He is adamant this house is better insulated than most, hard disagree from us.
Yeah, that is a bit of downside with the swamp coolers, especially if you’re short on decent ventilation. Was the house ever a flip? Around here flippers are notorious for under insulating.
We have tried them, but they just make the house too humid which is even more uncomfortable, this house is weird, there are huge windows that face the sun all day at different times per window set that do not open at all (we have tried black out curtains to no avail) so once it gets hot out it just stays hot without good airflow. Of course the landlord continually says how well insulated the house is, I am like huh, it can't withstand heat and in the winter we have to have to heat pump running all the time, so dumb, but hey, we can afford it and moving is not an option currently. However the insulation is it definitely holds in the heat and does not keep out the cold.
