Yes, it would be nice if no one would go hungry, but it's never been accomplished before in history. To imagine it could even happen is a fantasy that takes a lot of faith to believe in. That's what the song "Imagine" is all about.
It's exactly what Karl Marx says: "To each according to his ability, to each according to his need". He also said it requires coercion and the abolition of religion to accomplish it, since the government must be the supreme authority and they cannot tolerate people worshipping any authority higher than the government. Marx also considered the family to be a threat to his goal, since people may value their families over the government, which is also not allowed to happen.
Biden has already said the government, not parents, should determine what is allowed to be taught and not to be taught to children in public schools and that the government owns our children.
Jesus was not a socialist. He said "the poor you will always have with you", suggesting it's impossible to get rid of all poverty. Moses said "you shall not steal" and that's exactly what coerced redistribution of wealth is doing. Not everyone who's rich has gotten there unjustly. The famous often misquoted verse says "The love of money is the root of all evil", not money or wealth itself. People are personally responsible for giving to the poor, not the government.
Coercion does not solve the problem of selfishness or greed, it just makes the rich even more bitter and resentful that their hard earned wages are being taken away and makes all those who are getting the freebies unwilling to work. That eventually leads to a collapse of the economy and eventually everyone is poor. As they say "Socialism works fine until the government runs out of other people's money".
Saying that society should strive to ensure we all have our basic needs met is not the same as saying that everyone should be in exactly the same spot economically.
I think no person should go hungry and that society should do what it can to make that not happen. Do you, comrade?
