That’s the other thing…I don’t look at a Chinatown and think “melting pot”, I think “salad bowl” (going back to Anti Marine Layer’s metaphor). America has always been kind of a cultural mosaic, and I think that’s great. Communities of immigrants from the same country are hardly a new thing…
The really odd thing is that Chinatowns have always had vendors like that. I don’t know if the right is seriously that ignorant to think Kamala created these immigrant communities from nothing or if they’re just being disingenuous.
Yeah…I don’t know how anyone can justify a $7.25 minimum wage (in force in states in Georgia). How the heck can anyone survive on that much in Atlanta? Like sure, the rents might be a bit lower than in Seattle, but not nearly three times lower. Seems like the average minimum wage worker would be better off in Seattle as compared to there.
Are we down to degrading any legal immigrants from different countries? Who might have even been born here? Do you realize how many different cultures exist in this country and have for 100+ years? Ever been to a China town in any big city? So American of you guys.
