I doubt it would mix out the inversion (you generally don’t have low elevation fog under a well mixed boundary layer).
I think it’s more likely the latent heat release from condensation warmed the air, but that saturated airmass itself was cooling in the absence of insolation, so when it arrived/formed at your location you saw the temp spike then the resumption of gradual cooling when radiative equilibrium was reached again.
