That GRR snowfall kind of explains no event summary. Heck, I don't even see one single snowfall report for their CWA this morning. Nada. Had to go national reporting site to confirm the two bolded lines in my post last night. Apparently the morning wave focused north of me and the evening wave more ESE from me giving about 2.5" combined here. I mentioned surprises and well, while not a bust, those last-minute surprises weren't really great for here, lol. A quick measure this morning show a solid 5" depth. This map shows the two jack-zones for The Mitt with this storm.
0z GEFS FINALLY upping the ante for the Heartland in the Week 2 period....remember how DRY it was just a couple days ago???
Opening 7 days of JAN...
With the cold pressing....snow chances on the rise...
FWIW, GEFS doesn't look great here. EPS is slightly better, but not any better with the NYE system specifically. Basically the only model that has me getting respectable totals out of this is op GFS.
