So, you're saying there's a chance. Any bonafide thaw with legs we are usually into it a ways before anything good (ending it) pops up on models. But ofc with AI and such the models are getting a bit better further out. Two historic winters for this region had Dec thaws ('77 and 2013). Extremely rare at your LAT to have wall-to-wall winter/1"+ snow cover begin in Dec. Even back in the non-warm era. 1903 may be one if the snow was early and deep enough. I did it with '95 but that was much further north and with the benefit of LES as well.
