The updated CPC long range guess has the rest of the winter of 2025/26 as being near average and maybe wetter than average.

Also, the long-range models are pointing to a very warm Christmas with highs reaching the mid 50’s if that plays out it would be one of the warmest Christmas Days. At Grand Rapids the record high for Christmas is 65 in 1982 it has only been 50 or better 6 time on Christmas day here in GR 3 of those have been since 2019. As expected with the warm temperatures and rain we lost most of the old snow cover we had. But with light snow falling we have around 2” of new snow on the ground this AM. The temperature has fallen down to 22 here in my yard.
The official H/L yesterday at Grand Rapids was 49/28 that 49 is the 6 warmest for any December 18th there was 0.31” of rainfall the highest wind gust was 44 MPH out of the SW. For today the average H/L is 35/24 the record high of 55 was in 1895 the coldest high of 9 was in 1929 the record low of -18 was in 1983 that -18 is also the record low for December. The warmest low of 39 was in 1902. The wettest was 0.99” in 2008 that fell as the record snowfall amount of 10.2” the most on the ground was 12” in 1929 and 1916.
