Going through pictures this morning looking for something, and I was reminded of another funny preference that gets people going.
I'm not a Chevy person...for that matter I'm not a General Motors person. I pretty much hate anything Chevy/GM made after the mid-80's. And I know there are people on here who love their Chevys/GM products and that's all good. Different strokes for different folks.
That said, I got a full size SUV last weekend because I could be giving up to 6 people a ride from the airport. I also wanted a 4wd in case the roads did end up getting ugly.
Hertz hooked me up with a Chevy Suburban Z71 and I have to admit, that was a sweet ride. Lots of power, really nice exhaust note (I just hope it wasn't that synthesized BS some car makers are doing now), and a really comfortable ride.
EPL as well as Bundesliga, and Spain's La Liga are all so much fun to watch, and yeah, they are much more fun and intense than MLS.
I did watch the MLS before they went and pulled that double subscription BS (Apple TV subscription and MLS subscription). It was fun to watch a rising star develop then get snatched up by one of the European leagues. It's kinda funny to see the top European players come over here when they get "past their prime" and still run circles around the top talent the MLS has to offer.
As for playing in the snow, its just not fun. For football its cool because the ball is being carried, but soccer in the snow (or lots of standing water on the field) sucks. You can't dribble or pass the ball, and if you pop it in the air, when it hits the ground again, its just going to stop where it lands.
Extreme cold isn't fun either. I played once when it was about 5 degrees out (no snow on the ground). The ground was like cement, and when the ball hit you it hurt like hell, especially a shot to the face. Luckily that was before I started playing keeper. I've played a few games as keeper when it was in the 20's and those are pretty brutal, I can't imagine playing that position in 5 degree weather.
East Nantmeal looks like it had the coldest reading this morning with a low of 2.5 above zero. Of note Atglen DEOS, KMQS Coatesville Airport and the West Grove DEOS stations all will tie the County record for most consecutive days below freezing high days today at 16 straight days set way back in 1961! They are on track to set a new consecutive record of 17 days tomorrow. It looks like all spots will finally get above freezing on both Tuesday and Wednesday before falling back below freezing for max temps on both Thursday and Friday. The week looks pretty dry with only a slight chance of some precipitation toward Wednesday.
