I think it's likely the current 84º dew point in Cedar Rapids is our highest since 1995. I'm really looking forward to the possible good soaker across Iowa Friday.

What a bizarre setup today. Chicago got hammered by storms, while Rockford, just to the west, was basking under full sunshine and oppressive heat. It likely would've been Chicago's hottest day of the year if not for the storms, just some really bad luck. Kinda feels like Chicago's been getting screwed out of the heat this summer compared to other places. Even Detroit was hotter today (albeit they didn’t have any convection shenanigans).
