Just snuck in another 70+ day at ORD, although winds have now flipped northerly so the window for further warming will be shutting.
This makes it the 5th day of 70+ this month. There may be a shot at another one on Monday, and if that were to occur, it would be the most 70+ days in March in Chicago since 2012.

I predict Houston will experience 80 days above 100 F, 35 days above 105 F, 9 days above 110 F and a max of 114 F thsi summer. This doesn’t include the heat index. I predict there will be a 90 day complete dry spell in Houston, massive forest fires in the Piney woods by August and September. The records from 2011 and 2023 will likely be completely shattered by 2-3 F and maybe more. There is no hope for Houston this spring and summer. there is no hope for Texas which will eventually die to this drought.
