That will be such a big improvement for this summer, and more efficient as well…And not having to smell the neighbors.
After not having to see or hear my neighbors (other than their dirt bike trail in their woods that borders ours and doesn’t bother us) for 8 years now I know there is no way I could ever go back to living so close to other people.
Besides not enjoying the grey overcast between May-September, the reason now is more practical. After years of saving, we got a heat pump/AC installed this week at our townhouse. The portable ACs would suck the smell of weed from one of the neighbours. It was bad in one of our daughter’s rooms. No more.
I ran just the furnace blower all night Sunday into Monday to dry of the kids’ shoes from playing near a creek. I heard the blower cut out Monday morning at 4am. I told the HVAC guys when they arrived that day to begin the installation. Turns out the furnace was leaking water and shorted out the circuit board. (Coil furnace that uses water from the hot water tank). Good news: the furnace co. will cover under extended a new coil and circuit board, saving us $4k. Bad news: It’s coming from North Carolina. It’ll be about a week before we have heat and AC. With this marine layer the place is getting uncomfortably cool. Sun in the 70s would be nice,
