Who will get snow for the Summer Solstice?

I mean I guess it was one waffle, and kind of a hybrid in a way. Weird year.

The new model king shows a fairly quiet pattern ahead... looks less troughy than previous runs.

LOT issued a severe thunderstorm warning all the way to the IL/IN border for a line that is still about 75 miles away from the state line. Not sure I have seen that too many times before.

Models have been steadily backing off the solstice troughing. Not so much yet as to extend the heatwave, but enough so that precip is looking more finicky. Something to watch. For now, this trend appears to reflect the classic bias among models to rush pattern changes beyond a week out; so more of a delayed but not denied situation. We'll probably need to wait until the crest of this reload-heatwave Monday, before seeing some actual clarity for the rest of June.
