First half of June did some work as far as putting up positive anomalies. The underpeformance on Monday's high temps all but ensures that June will technically finish a hair below average at ORD, probably a few tenths of a degree or so.
It's frustrating that the ridge kept trending farther east over the past few days. If it hadn't, that GFS run would've ended up being pretty close (though if we get some actual good mixing on Wednesday we may have a shot at upper 90s). Oh well, at least the East is still on track for a historic heatwave.
Rinse and repeat!
