  1. Past hour
  2. I guess it’s a great way to control a growing population, but my parents took no prisoners. Grades were sacred cows in my house, as were scholarships.
  3. Shockingly, fully 50% of Americans have below median intelligence.
  4. I think it was using JAS. I posted the stats at the time.
  5. Man, if you think that’s a bummer, look at our fearless next generation. Not much better than cannon fodder. Texas knows better…talk about not rising to the occasion! My parents took no prisoners to our studies A&B’s only allowed.
  6. I know your point is that that summer was very warm, and obviously it was, but the "hottest ever in Seattle" stat is a joke. 2015 or 1958 hold that distinction at almost every other somewhat reliable long term station in western WA besides SEA. Including the Seattle city office station. It was definitely the hottest July/August on record for the region.
  7. I was talking about the southern trend of this cutoff and the amplification of next week's ridge. Which are +ENSO tendencies. Wasn't making any point about -ENSO
  8. Upgraded to a winter storm warning now. Nice! WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM SATURDAY TO 8 AM PDT SUNDAY ABOVE 5000 FEET... * WHAT...Heavy snow Above 5000 feet. Snow accumulations up to 5 to 8 inches around the Lake Tahoe Basin, 8 to 12 inches over higher Sierra passes, and up to 12 to 20 inches of snow across the Sierra Crest above 7000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. Wind prone areas along Hwy-395 in Mono County may see gusts 60+ mph. Higher Sierra ridgetops may see gusts 100+ mph.
  9. Today
  10. Yes... because Nina summers have been so cold lately Hottest summer ever in Seattle was in 2022... a year with wall-to-wall Nina.
  11. 12Z EPS continues the KSEA rainfall rug pull and further ramps up the heat for the following weekend.
  12. 55 million is probably exaggerated, but the reality is still bad enough. https://u.osu.edu/mclc/2018/02/08/who-killed-more-hitler-stalin-or-mao/
  13. Mao's Great Leap Forward wiped out between 15-55 million (Actual numbers are censored)
  14. 72 in North Bend now. Snuck in an actual warm day before a cold and wet weekend.
  15. @Frontal Snowsquall would know all about that
  16. About 20 million USSR dead alone. Just mind-boggling.
  17. Or they’re just idiots behaving like idiots because they’re idiots.
  18. Those Spring Breakers down in Florida are wild. They were probably not suppose to be drinking and decided to dump the evidence in the Atlantic
  19. 2022 is the only post-2011 year at PDX to see its first 80+ after 5/8. Took until 6/2 that year.
  20. Well we safely made it to New Orleans and I can’t buy a transit pass for the streetcars on the app because the ticketing part of the app went down right when we got here. My wife can’t walk very far so it was the only way we were gonna be able to get to the French quarter. Just a few blocks away but can’t go.
  21. I’m pretty excited for the big soaker tomorrow. Seems like if there is a day in May we have a shot at pulling off a sub-50 high it would be tomorrow as well.
  22. 12z Euro looks more reasonable. But there is little doubt PDX will at least see their first 80 of the year by next weekend. Which is more or less on time.
